Greetings to all!

My current landlord is looking for information on training programs in
historic architecture restoration and preservation. He is not
interested in programs in historic preservation law, but rather is
seeking programs (academic or apprentice-based) that emphasize the
nuts-and-bolts of the restoration craftsmanship. Ideally, he would be
able to combine architectural history with developing artisanal
skills- i.e. how to examine, match, and apply plasters; replicate and
replace shingles; stabilize brick, etc.

I have already pointed him to the two organizations that I know- SPNEA
(New England, USA) and Colonial Williamsburg (Southeast, USA). He is
particularly interested in programs in the area of Kansas City (USA),
but I think he will also consider quality opportunities in other
regions of North America and overseas.

Since I know how discriminating historical archaeologists can be, I
told him I would inquire on his behalf.

Please reply off list to me, and I will forward responses.

Cheers,
Tim
