Geoffrey M. Gyrisco (Chief, Survey and Registration Sction) is
compiling a bibliography entitled "Farm Buildings and the Farm: A
Bibliography of the Agricultural Landscape". He does not have e-mail
so I am putting this message out for him. Section 6 will be on
historic archaeology of the subject. Its subsections are General, New
England and Middle Atlantic, South, Midwest and Plains, and Canada.
The section on archaeology (which one recent posted said was almost
non-existent, is already 68 pages long in the current draft (out of
175 pages). If you would like YOUR excavation of any farmsite to be
included, send him a photocopy of the title page and a photo copy of
the abstract. The final will be ready for distribution in early
October. He has to have all info to him by the end of august.
Send to: Geoffrey M. Cyrisco, Division of Historic Preservation,
State Historical Society of Wisconsin, 816 State Street, Madison,
Wisconsin 53706-1488. Smoke Pfeiffer
