Stephen Saxe, a well-known historian of printing and printing equipment,
has asked me to post this message. Please reply to him directly. In
addition to the specific request, I'm sure he would be interested in any
printing-related archaeology.

I am seeking information about the possible location(s) of any
15th-century lead printing types. The only ones I know of were dredged
from the bed of the Saone River in Lyons in 1878. Much old printing type
from the 16th and 17th centuries has been excavated, but I know of no
other 15th-century metal type that has survived.
