        Please forward this message along to folks you know who may be
looking for work.
        The Corporation for Jefferson's Poplar Forest will be filling
several 3-6 month positions in both the  field and laboratory  beginning as
early as the end of May.   The positions are for  a 37.5 hr. work week at a
pay rate of $8.00-$10.00/hr. depending on experience.
        Field staff will assist in ongoing excavations of a late 18th
century slave quarter and landscape investigations of the ornamental
grounds of Thomas Jefferson's plantation home in Bedford County, Virginia.  
Lab staff will assist in a variety of areas, including cataloguing,
artifact analysis and soil flotation.  Field and lab staff will also work 
with students participating in two field schools and interpret the site to
museum visitors.
