     You might also look at a 1990 article by Carskadden and Gartley on
     pporcelain marbles in Historical Archaeology 24(2):55-69.  It deals a
     little with glass marbles and has a good bibliography.

Dear Colleagues:
    What sources should I consult for dating glass marbles (circa
1879-1972)?  One is a solid opaque, light green.  The other is light
blue/gray swirled with maroon.  I never played marbles as a child and
don't even know the correct terms for each type!
