Hi Everyone – The latest volume ofthe Archaeological Society of South Carolina's Journal SouthCarolina Antiquities is out! On the cover there's a photo of thePottersville field school at work. Inside there are short articles byGeorge Calfas, Brooke Kenline and Carl Steen sumarizing their fieldschool experiences. In addition there is an article entitled“Archaeological Investigations, Lidar Aerial Survey, andCompositional Analysis of Pottery in Edgefield, SC” by George,Brooke, Carl and Chris Fennell. But wait, there's more: a shortarticle on those pesky x's or crosses found both on colonoware andEdgefield stoneware by Joe Joseph and Nicole Isenbarger and finally,an article by Carl Steen entitled Alkaline Glazed Stoneware Origins”which summarizes old explanations and brings new documentary evidenceto light.
We printed a few extra copies, and youcan have have one for the price of ASSC membership: that's $15 forstudents and seniors; $20 for individuals and $30 for institutions.If you don't want to be a member a copy will be $20.
