Interested in mining history and archaeology?
 
There is a new e-mail discussion list on the 'mailbase' server -
mining-history.
 
It is intended as a forum for the discussion of all aspects of the history
of  mining and associated activity, including ore preparation, on-site
smelting, transport systems, social conditions, &c., related to British and
Irish sites.
 
Members are encouraged to make full use of the list to disseminate
information - conferences, field meets, newspaper cuttings, book reviews -
to post queries or to question accepted views on anything relating to
mining, be it coal, iron, non-ferrous metals, or stone.
