I know I will crack the heart in Don Satz and other HIP fans on the list
now, but Historically Informed Performances are pointless, as there will
never be a perfect HIP.  Take just such a thing as that Haydns String
Quartets played in HIP don't slow down over the time [when the overwind
in the metronome weakens].  And now the physicans come and tell me that
one second is not longer as long as it once was...
