Thanks for the help on the Zubin Metha recording.  Here's another puzzle:

A friend of mine had, a long time ago, an album that he lost in a fire.
He cannot remember who wrote the piece, only the auxillary information.

It is Seiji Ozawa conducting the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra and the
Segel Schwall Blues Band.  It is either a symphony or long suite for
orchestra and blues band.  The recording is anywhere from the late
'60's-early '70's

I've never heard anything like this, and if no one knows the recording,
maybe the conductor.
