Robert Peters:

>Is Schubert the best of all Lieder composers?

No.

>Is he is what makes him the best?

Doesn't apply.

>Is there something you don't like about his Lieder composing?

No. I just don't know how you'd figure out who was THE best, even
if you knew all the Lieder composers who ever wrote. Does it make any
sense at all to say that Schubert is a better Lieder composer than Mahler
or Mussorgsky or Faure or Schumann or Brahms? What's the highest star?
Does van Gogh paint better than Cezanne? Could Samson beat up Joe Louis?
Who's the better shortstop - Marty Marion, Ozzie Smith, or Luis Aparicio?
