The piece, IMHO is the greatest expression of human reverence for the
Almighty ever penned.  It is *the* sublime work of art for all mankind.
As for the Shaw recording, it is typical of his insistance on rhythmic
perfection at all costs and I find it somewhat sterile.  The Gardiner
recording and the Christophers recording are far superior as far as I
am concerned.
