The Elan CD 82276 of Alkan, Liszt is the same music as the RCA HP 63310
with Alkan, Liszt Piano Music. The HP technology aparrently resulted
in better sound according to one source I read. Anyway, the CD sounds
fantastic and cost about half of what the Elan one went for.

I remember the Lewenthal disk well. At the same time the disc came out,
the printed piano score also appeared - edited by Lewenthal - with copious
and very well written - even droll - notes.

THe LP had, as I remember, "le Festin de Escope", the quasi Faust, "comme
le Vent" and the Symphony. It was truly one of the most ear-popping music
I had ever heard.
