Martin Anderson:

>A conductor-friend-of-a-friend has conceived the idea of recording all the

Those with long memories will not be surprised that I cannot avoid
mentioning James MacMillan's, even though it already has two recordings.
I hope that the conductor in question will not restrict his ambition to
works called sinfoniettas, but will do his best to use bands of the same
name to perform them. The London Sinfonietta springs to mind, but I fear
it's too late to catch the departed Bournemouth Sinfonietta.
