I would like to second John's endorsement and also add a bit about the
Film Score Monthly label. If you are interested in film music you probably
know that label and its magazine. The discs are available through their
web site. While I find most of the writers to be highly informed "fans,"
many of them seem to lack much of an understanding of the basic vocabulary
of music writing. The CD label offers some real gems, many, not available
before, beautifully produced.
