John Field's piano concertos have enjoyed a resurgence over the past
decade. John O'Conor recorded all 7 of them on the Onyx label, then
repeated nos. 2 and 3 with Mackerras for Telarc. Miceal O'Rourke has
recorded the complete set with Bamert on Chandos. Naxos has also entered
the sweepstakes with its ongoing series from Benjamin Firth.

Now, a period instrument recording of Field's concertos nos. 2 and 3 are
available from Teldec featuring Andreas Staier and Concerto Koln. Has
anyone heard the Staier recording, and what's your opinion of O'Conor,
O'Rourke, and Firth in this repertoire?
