Does anyone know anything about the Trio Argentino? On the basis of
the little info I could garner from the Net, all I can say is that they
are a group founden in 1994. I have been able to find only two recordings
of theirs? Do they have any more recent recordings other than the two
I found, which are Piazzola-Dvorak of 2000 and Schubert-Faure of 2003.
I am surprised that they have not created more of a stir as they play
the most stunning, impassioned chamber music I have heard in a long time.
Listening to their Dumky, I had the eeire impression that I was witnessing
the birth of a new masterpiece, rather than a good performance of
well-known and loved piece.

The second album is surprising primarily for the choice of works-
given the quality of past recorded performances (my favorite is the
Szeryng/Fournier/Rubinstein recording) Trio Argentino does not quite
shine as brightly in Schubert E Flat (despite the solidity of the
performance and the quality of the sound engineering) and the Faure piece
is too diffuse to bring out the best in them (my apologies to the lovers
of the piece).
