OMNI Ensemble To Present New York Premiere of Music by D'Arcy Reynolds

The OMNI Ensemble will present the New York Premiere of California
composer D'Arcy Reynolds' "Corazon del Verano", along with works by
Mozart, Bernstein and Rorem on Saturday, October 30, 2004, 8 PM at the
Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, 58 Seventh Ave.  at the corner of Lincoln
Place in Park Slope, Brooklyn.

Other works on the program include Mozart's Piano Trio in Bb Major
transcribed for flute, cello, and piano by Jim Lahti, several of Leonard
Bernstein's short piano pieces from his various "Anniversaries" collections
that have been arranged into a suite for flute, cello, and piano by Jim
Lahti, and Ned Rorem's Trio for Flute, Cello & Piano. This concert will
be performed by OMNI Ensemble members David Wechsler, flute, Jim Lahti,
piano, and guest artist Deborah Sepe, cello.

Continuing as the chamber music group in residence at the Brooklyn
Conservatory of Music, the OMNI Ensemble performs concerts of enormous
variety all designed to provide their audience with a musical diversity
not ordinarily encountered by one chamber music group.  Throughout the

Tickets for the October 30 concert are $15 and $12 for students and
senior citizens.  Tickets are available in advance or at the door prior

D'Arcy Reynolds is a well-known composer on the West Coast where her
compositions have been premiered at numerous concert halls and music
festivals.  She has written works for orchestra, chamber orchestra,
chorus, chamber ensemble, voice and piano.  Recent premieres include
her string quartet "Cloven Dreams", performed by Tessa Brinckman & the
East/West Continuo in Portland, Oregon, "Elegy" by the San Jose Chamber
Orchestra, "21" for piano, and "The Past Keeps Changing", performed at
the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco, CA.  In recognition
for her outstanding work, D'Arcy has won several grants from such
prestigious organizations as the American Composers Forum, the American
Music Center and Meet the Composer.  She received a 2004 Meet the Composer
Global Connections grant and will travel to South Africa where the
Sontonga String Quartet will perform "Cloven Dreams" at the University
