I envy you hearing all those recordings for the first time.  They contain
nearly all the Berlioz there is.  There was a Denon CD containing such
rarities as The Greek Revolution and Le cinq mai, and conducted by Jean
Fournet, but I doubt it's still available.

It's also worth hunting down a copy of Berlioz's Memoirs.  They are
tedious in places but in general, quite fascinating.  They certainly left
me wishing he'd been able to write more music, but with a great sense of
gratitude for the masterpieces he did leave us.
