Bernard Chasan mentioned Maria Tipo as an excellent Bach pianist.
I neglected to mention her in my previous posting.  Tipo's Goldberg
Variations on EMI is the most beautiful version I've encountered and
the recorded sound is superb.

Both Bernard and another list member mentioned Andras Schiff.  If you don't
have his Bach Inventions on Decca, think about getting it now.  He's really
in his element with these pieces: poetic, mysterious, great part playing,
and a gorgeous legato.
