If you go beyond her incomprehensible "Bambiland," information about
the new Nobel Laureate Elfriede Jelinek says her works include the novel
that served as the basis for "The Piano Teacher" (ugh!) and the libretto
for Olga Neuwirth's "Lost Highway." Title and story came from David
Lynch's 1997 film. Has anyone seen the opera?

PS: A propos Lynch, for more about Lacanian psychoanalysis, see
http://www.othervoices.org/1.3/bh/highway.html#N_1. It helps
to "explain" Jelinek too... it's a small world, after all.
