Thanks for posting this, Karl.  One of my undergrad clarinet teachers
once told me that Johanos lived in the other half of their duplex while
both were at Eastman.

His 1967 recording of the Rachmaninoff "Symphonic Dances" with the Dallas
Symphony is still my favorite--a very dry acoustic, but the performance
is really something.
