There were a sizeable number of positive comments about Rubbra's orchestral
works a few months ago, particularly his symphonies.  Dutton Laboratories
has released a cd of his violin sonatas, and it received an excellent
review in Gramophone.

Have any of you heard this new recording of Rubbra's violin sonatas? I like
his symphonies very much.  Are the violin sonatas of roughly equal quality?
