Albert Roussel's op 52, for starters... for strings only, as are at
least two of Miaskovsky's three and the one of Laszlo Lajtha's, whch
I believe is a straight transcription of a string quartet. Nicholas
Berezowsky [his op 17; I think I have a full score somewhere here]. The
others in my score-and-record database have been mentioned. I have no
immediate reference, but I think Moisei Vainberg did one, probably for
strings only. Down among the Czechs: Vitezslava Kapralova: Vojenska
Sinfonietta [Military Sinfonietta] Vaclav Trojan: Sinfonietta armoniosa
From Sweden: Dag Wiren's op 7 From Denmark: Knudage Riisager's op 46
From the USA: Wallingford Riegger's op 73 From Imperial Russia:
Rimsky-Korsakov: Sinfonietta on Folk Tunes op 31 [surely earlier than
Chadwick]
