Let us not forget what I think is interesting "Chinese" music:  Das Lied
von der Erde!  ...built on a chinese pentatonic scale, I still think,
however, that this musical works is like that painting by some chinese of
"Jonah and the Whale".  From the bible story about Jonah who was swallowed
by a whale.  The chinese painter from 12th century, had never seen a whale,
and therefore he painted the whale as a giant fish.  But he possesed
imagination, delicacy, and mastery of movement!
