 [It may have slowed down considerably, but I believe it is still active.
 They filed a report for fiscal year 1998 (which ended on Aug 31, 1998)
 and their contect email and phone line are still functioning.  It's
 an interesting foundation, and has supportted a wide variety of arts
 activities, including grants to the Havergal Brian Society, Robert Simpson,
 Michael Finnissy, Richard Barrett, Christopher Dench, Howard Hersh, R.
 Murray Schafer, and such diverse music organizations as Bay Area Music
 Archives, Tanglewood Music Center, American Musical Heritage Foundation,
 Western Orchestral Society, Bay Area Blues Society, and dozens of others.
 Total grants since 1985 are in the neighborhood of $8 million.  -Dave]
