Steve Schwartz writes concerning Koopman's Bach Cantata series:

>I've been following the series, but off-hand I don't remember him. To me,
>the outstanding singer of that group is Klaus Mertens, the baritone.

I agree with Steve that Mertens has made better contributions to the
Kooopman series than Gerd Turk. I'd also like to plug the singer I think
is a major 'find' in the Koopman series - alto Bogna Bartosz. She has a
wonderful voice which penetrates me deeply, and her expressiveness is a
peak levels. I don't care to have visitors in my home, but Ms. Bartosz
is welcome any time(not that I'm expecting her).
