If only the Philhadelphia had a higher recording profile.  Their reputation
was built worldwide on their stunning recordings but they seem to have
dried up now.  'Provincial' (and very fine) orchestras here in the UK
make more CDs than the great US orchestras.  The US orchestral recording
industry, once one of the glories of CM, seems to have all but disappeared.
Meanwhile in Europe there is lots of interesting activity.

I say this as a fan of many US orchestras.  Where is the innovation that
produced, say, LSO Live???
