I feel a little bad about the fact that I've listened to little Mozart in
the past two years or so; previously he was the composer I listened to the
most. It's hard to pin-point the reasons for changing tastes over time.
Why would I have preferred Mozart to Bach, then do a complete turn-around?

Mozart's music is so easy on the ears and also easy to appreciate right
away - hard listening is hardly ever a requirement. I think I was a lazier
listener a few years ago with the notion that all I had to do was "take
it in" and enjoy. For me, Mozart fills that premise perfectly. But as
time wore on, I found that Mozart's music was not capable of effectively
reducing my day-to-day concerns and stress levels. Enter Bach and the rest
is history. Bach's music takes me completely out of my world of functions
and responsibilites.

As an aside, I have some extensive work/travel coming up and the holidays
are also close at hand. Whatever my frequency rate of music reviews has
generally been, it will be greatly reduced over the next few weeks. I also
would like to apologize for the slow pace of my reviews in recent months.
I used to go with just one review project at a time, but I found that
restrictive - increased it to three - then to five.

I have unfortunately gone overboard with the five, the result being that
the postings on any particular project are too far apart in time. I'll
do my best to finish More Goldbergs, Bach Cello Suites, and Haydn Opus
76 String Quartets before embarking on any additonal review projects.
However, I have already started on Art of Fugue, and I want to finish
before long the Schubert Piano Sonatas I am reviewing. Sometimes I get
into these extreme modes, but I always find my way back to reason and home
base. I currently have a closet loaded with music to review; any clones
out there? One thing I can guarantee is that I will finish every project I
start.
