It has been officially announced that NPR radio's NYC station, WNYC will be
cutting back its daytime classical music schedule from 8 hours a day to a
"one-hour classical music performance and interview program" according to
the a WNYC press release:

This leaves the geriatric (count the number of ads from hospitals) syrupy,
top 100 war horse, station WQXR the only source of classical music in NY.

There may still be a chance to do something, particularly if you are a New
Yorker.  See:
