Many years ago a friend of mine got a tape of some lacquer discs which
featured the score. It sounds more like a full suite of the music, about
30 minutes long. There are some fine moments in it.

I also remember, in a documentary film about him, talking about a scene,
(central to the plot) where, at the preview showings, the audience started
laughing. He rewrote the music and at the next showing he said their
was dead silence in the theater...He used that to illustrate the power
music had in film.
