I'd like to thank James Kearney for his report and encourage others to
do the same for their locales. My only complaint about this list is its
obsession with recordings, and the almost complete absence of reports of
happenings. Do so few people here have real attachments to musical groups
at home?

I'd love to read what the Cleveland Orchestra did this month, or the
Concertgebouw, or about a Lieder Abend in Vienna, or what's happening
at La Scala (other than Muti getting into a fight with someone!). It's
so much more interesting than 'the best Beethoven recording!' (to me, at
least %).

Anyhow, my 10p. %)
