Regarding the stereo reissue of the Horenstein Mahler 8 on BBC Legends...

If I can interject here, it's funny you should mention this particular
performance just now, which I confesss I have not yet heard.  But just
today I ordered the CD, because of a review that appeared in the St.
Petersburg Times, the largest paper here in Florida and a pretty important
one in the US in general.  The review was not a good one, and pretty much
trashed Ricardo Chailly's recording which I guess was just released.  But
the critic mentioned that the Horenstein was the best, and that everyone
should buy that one instead.  I can't wait to hear it, especially after
reading Mr.  Duggan's strong recommendation on his website.  Here's the
