The Songs Without Words are pretty good; I have the Liva Rev version on
Hyperion.  I don't care much currently for the octet, and I don't have a
vivid recollection of his overtures.

Bob, all is not lost.  Just because I don't appreciate Mendelssohn doesn't
mean that I'll never listen to him again.  I'll do the listening and keep
buying more of him (although at a slow pace) and we'll see what the future
holds.
