John Parker writes on the Leningrad brass and the Bruckner 9:

It works.  Not sure why but it certainly does, a kind of nervous energy,
especially in the first movement, a level of tension akin to taut muscles
ready to explode, a graceful aggression, if you will.  And a reminder that
you can get this at Berkshire Records.  Now if the 7th were available as
well.  I certainly would like to hear what that orchestra would do with
that symphony.
