Does anyone else on the list read the guide for *entertainment* or am I
just an over-the-top classical recording nerd. The only other book on the
subject that I can cite as more entertaining, maddening, and enjoyable when
I'm bored on a rainy day is Jim Svedja's. Of course enjoyable and accurate
are certainly two totally different things, but I usually find that when
the PG slams a disc, it is worthy of being slammed and when they rave about
a disc it is worth at the very least a listen to get a good, comparative
view with one's own favorite. The reviews in between I tend to read, but,
for the most part, ignore when buying.
