Not right.  Although I have plenty of sarcastic moments, the above is
not one of them.  I prefer Fanfare to any other English speaking music
periodical, and do find it a fine source for serious record collectors.
Overall, the reviews are excellent and do not reveal the kind of bias
exhibited by American Record Guide, particularly in the HIP area of music.
In ARG, a typical comment on a period instrument recording is something
like: "This is fine disc where the usual sour and scrappy ancient
instruments behave themselves".  With ARG, folks who do not enjoy period
instrument performances are given full authorization to review them; I
find those reviews meaningless.
