I hope they would, though personally I don't much care for surprises.
I like to hear new works after some advance preparation.  If the rest
of the program consisted only of old warhorses, I'd probably avoid the
concert. I do make a point of going to concerts to hear premieres or
works new to me even if the other works are routinely familiar ones,
but I generally have SOME idea of what to expect.
