The London Symphony Orchestra accompanied Deep Purple in "Concerto for
Group and Orchestra" at the Royal Albert Hall, London, September 25 + 26,
1999

I asked a violist friend in the orchestra what she thought of the
experience.  She appreciated the arrangements, which were interesting
and energetic (as you would expect from arranger Malcolm Arnold) and the
orchestra enjoyed the rock scenario and whole-hearted enthusiasm of the
audience - a big contrast to the drab lighting and restrained applause
of most classical concerts.
