I think you are right-no one dies-even Jack Point in the nearest thing to
a G& S Opera Seria "Yeoman of the Guard"falls in a dead faint, not dead-as
far as I'm aware.  A "real Opera" as opposed to Operetta:  well, this
reminds me of a famous couple of lines from the film "The Rebel" with Tony
Hancock-if you know it.  He askes for "A cup of cappuccino- no froth"
Operetta has the "Froth".  ("Operetta hath froth" sounds good somehow....)
