Gone are the days when I would have to give up lunch for a week in order to
buy that next gotta-have-it Mahler or Strauss CD.
But now that I'm one of those guys with "lots of disposable income," (yeah,
right), I bought Dvorak's 8th Symphony with out realizing I already had it
in my collection.
Sadly signing off,
John Smyth (Though, reflecting upon Clint Eastwood's sad assessment of
contemporary politicians in the movie, "In the Line of Fire," I ask: "Is
there any music around today with artistic ideas worth losing one's lunch
over?")
