I'm not entirely surprised if Chailly is your "reference".  He is not a
conductor who I would rank anywhere when it comes to Bruckner.

If you insist on digital sound get Tintner's discs on Naxos, they're not
that expensive.

Not heard it.  I like his 3rd a lot but head bad things about his (IIRC)
