I'm the furthest from being an activist, but I must say there has been nary
a peep from the NYC classical music community about the demise of the 77
year old daytime WNYC classical music schedule. (Perhaps because it came
during the six month anniversary of 9/11?)

The site http://savewnyc.org has gotten only 200 hits since the
announcement.

It only goes to reinforce the image of the classical music lover as the
staid, passive fuddy-duddy who listens to music with his belly button.
What kind of reaction do you think there would be if they took MTV off
the air??

I think the whole thing is very sad and very pathetic....

Best regards,
