Nor did I. I came across it in one of my online fishing expeditions. I
was trying to land the ever elusive Rosbaud Bruckner 5th. I did not, but
I did catch this one.

I have not yet managed to listen to the entire work. I snuck a brief
listen to some of the first movement on headphones last night, mainly
because I prompted my own curiosity. It promises to be an intense reading,
energetically introverted, if you can make sense of that statement. Those
who know Rosbaud's Mahler 7 as well as his Bruckner 7 know what I mean. A
firm leash but the beast is given room to run now and again.

The cd is on a label new to me. DATUM. It's catalog number is DAT
12303 B. It is coupled with a lovely reading of Mozart's flute and harp
concerto, a live recording just a few days before Rosbaud's death. not
to be missed. The Mahler was recorded in 1960, a studio performance.

Both were with Sinfonieorchester des Sudwestdeutschen Rundunks,
Baden-Baden.

I got mine at CDConnection, I believe, about 10 US dollars.

Now tell me about his 9th, please.
