The archivist at Radion NZ kindly sent the following info on their Tintner
recordings.  There aren't many to be honest.  The Lilburn and Wagner
look interesting though.  I did not realise that Mr Tintner was the first
conductor of the fine Auckland Philharmonia.

I suspect that some private collector has off air recordings stashed
somewhere.  The person who kindly gave me info said it was not a complete
list and he will make further enquiries with Radio NZ.

   DESCRIPTION:
   Rigoletto by Giuseppe Verdi.  Performed by the New Zealand Opera
   Company, the New Zealand Opera Company Chorus with chorus master,
   Harry Brusey, and featuring the Concert Orchestra of the NZBC
   with conductor, Georg Tintner.  Recorded at a public performance
   by the NZ Opera Co. at His Majesty's Theatre, Auckland in May
   1964.  DOCS.  NB: The Malcolm Nankivell Collection of tapes were
   recorded off radio broadcasts by Malcolm Nankivell, an avid
   supporter of the NZ Opera Company.  From 1958 until 1964 he was
   President of the NZ Opera Company Society and went on to become
   a director of the Opera Company.  In 1995 this collection was
   copied to DAT and cassette at the request of Maxine Rose from
   Concert FM.  The original tapes are now housed at the Alexander
   Turnbull Library.  Due to the amateur nature of these recordings,
   the quality is often fairly poor, however they are significant
   in that many operas as performed by the NZ Opera Company.

   La Boheme by Puccini.  Performed by the New Zealand Opera Company,
   the New Zealand Opera Company Chorus with chorus master, Harry
   Brusey, and the Concert Orchestra of the NZBC with conductor,
   Georg Tintner.  Refer to DOC for full cast list.  Recorded during
   a public performance at the St. James Theatre, Wellington, April
   11th, 1963.  NB: The Malcolm Nankivell Collection of tapes were

   DESCRIPTION:
   Arthur Honegger's Oratorio 'Joan of Arc at the Stake' Performed
   by the Orpheus Choir and the Hutt Intermediate Special Choir,
   with the NZSO.  Wellington Town Hall, 14.7.79, under the direction
   of Georg Tintner.  Performance staged by Fergus Dick. Solo singers
   include Bruce Carson, Anthony Benfell, Wendy Dixon, Anthea Moller,
   Frances Green. Actors speaking include Ray Henwood, Peter
   Vere-Jones, Susan Wilson, Michael Haigh, Mildred Woods.

   There are two versions of this recording, the DAT comes from the
   raw (presumably stereo)recordings, originally 3 reels of ORT,
   it is 80 mins long. The ORT mono version is the edited broadcast
   tape,73 mins, with presentation sheet.

   Warren-Smith,Anthea Moller, Lone Koppel-Winther, Robert Allman,

   Appointment with the Auckland Philharmonia on its 21st Birthday.
   Broadcast on Concert FM on November 8, 2001.  Produced and
   presented by Kerry Stevens.  The orchestra's president, Don
   Turkington, comments on its record.  Kerry talks to Brecon Carter,
   concert master emeritus of its predecessor, the Auckland Symphonia,
   about how it began after the symphonia collapsed.  Comment also
   from horn player, John Ewer, who became artistic director, and
   from the first conductor, Georg Tintner.  People mentioned include
   Michael Maxwell, the first manager, then Christopher Blake.
   Friends of the Orchestra president, Kathy Goff, talks about its
   work.  John Hopkins talks about conducting Mahler's Third Symphony.
   Trombonist Mark Close, who's the secretary, talks about how this
   musician-run orchestra is managed. Lloyd Edwards, the general
