There is a variety of compensation arrangements with artists and recording
companies with the MP3 format.  I would suggest picking-up one of many
computer magazines at your local library or newsstand that are covering
the topic.  Gramophone has devoted some brief articles in recent issues.
Overall, I think Ron's concerns will eventually be found to be overblown.
