I have not heard this music, but with the arrogance of ignorance I bet
they are not romantic at all. I read somewhere that Busoni characterized
Schnabel as a futurist. Schnabel's Second Symphony, which I do know via
recording,is influenced by the twelve tone tribe, and is a formidable,
impressive, somewhat grim work.
