Here are some new cds that appear interesting:

Bach Violin & Harpsichord Sonatas on a 2-cd Harmonia Mudi set featuring
Andrew Manze.  As many of you know, Manze is the most recent great baroque
and early music violinist, and his way with Bach's sonatas should be
illuminating.

"Transformations" - Awardagin Pratt plays Mussorgsky's Pictures, the Brahms
Handel Variations, and Pratt's arrangement of Bach's Passacaglia & Fugue in
C minor, BWV 582.  I suppose that my heightened interest in this recording
is based on learning that Pratt also lives in Albuquerque.

Handel Italian Cantatas directed by Il Giardino Armonico(IGA) and featuring
soloist Eva Mei on Teldec.  IGA is a highly distinctive group worth
checking out.

That's about it.  Although my buddy JS Bach is on the cover of the January
Garmophone, there isn't all that much of interest inside.
