Professor, I saw a video of Vladamir Horowitz performing in Moscow several
years back.  In the audience were men with tear filled eyes.  Tell them
that music can express nothing.  Listen to the second movement of the
Beethoven violin concerto and tell me you can't hear some of the profound
sorrow that all lives experience.  We make heros out of composers precisely
because they speak so eloquently what we "feel" but can not express.
