By coincidence, I was reading a review of a Walton CD on Friday 29th in
which it mentioned that that very day was his centenary.  It's probably
too late now, but a little Walton in even late celebration won't go amiss.

I settled for an old favourite, his 2nd symphony, and was astonished to
find in the slow movement what sounded like a fleeting chord from The Rite
of Spring (around 3:40 in the Szell version).  I've heard that piece many
times and never noticed it.  Must try harder...
