Rodrigo Martins de Matos Ventura writes, regarding Ravel's G Major Concerto:

>Well, now I've just heard the second movement of the concerto, pratically
>for the first time, and I must say I've *LOVED* it! Amazing! Really nice
>and lovely piece. (As performed by Argerich)

No one has yet mentioned the old EMI recording)available on CD)by Arturo
Benedetti Michelangeli, yet for several of us who consider ourselves
connoisseurs of this work, his middle movement is the standard by which all
others are measured. And so far, none quite comes up to his mark, even the
wonderful new recording by Christian Zimerman with Pierre Boulez.

To Rodrigo's comment that he finds the remainder of the concerto dull -
just try listening to it a little more. I find it anything but dull.
